Still Life, by Philip McLoughlin (a past Challenge entry)
On May the 27th, Athlone Photography club would like to welcome John Hooton to offer critique on our Spring Challenge.
Every quarter, the APC committee encourages its members to submit 3 of their photos, taken in the last 3 month, which are then judged by an external Advanced Photographer. In this quarter, John Hooton, member of the Mallow Camera Club will go through each of them and explain what he liked and what could be improved.
Beyond the academic score (out of 20) provided, such feedback from an external specialist is invaluable for the club’s members. Often, a good photo can become a great photo, with very little advice and editing (cropping, sharpening, dodging and burning). This is the main purpose of the exercise.
After the critique which usually lasts around 60 min, John will show some of his own photos.
